Jung Sung Il Is A Socially Awkward PD Who Joins Investigative Reporting Team In Upcoming Drama "Unmasked"
The Disney+ original series “Unmasked” has unveiled new stills of Jung Sung Il ahead of its premiere!
“Unmasked” is an office comedy drama set against the backdrop of Korea’s first Investigative Journalism Bureau at a broadcasting company. The series is about a group of investigative reporters who use their cameras to expose bad people. The cast includes Kim Hye Soo, Jung Sung Il, and Joo Jong Hyuk.
Jung Sung Il will take on the role of PD (producing director) Han Do, who is transferred from the drama department to join an investigative reporting team due to a parachute appointment. After enduring a harsh life in the drama department, Han Do adopts a cynical view, believing that animals don’t betray, but humans do—and as a result, he struggles with social skills.
From day one, Han Do and the team leader Oh So Ryong (Kim Hye Soo) clash, as they are polar opposites. However, as they investigate various incidents together, with So Ryong passionately pursuing justice against villains, Han Do gradually becomes more attuned to the team’s spirit.
Viewers are left wondering how Han Do transforms from a cold, aloof character to a more integrated team member as he grows and learns from those around him.
Commenting on his character, Jung Sung Il shared, “Han Do is a character who grows gradually, layer by layer. After joining the team, his values toward people and the world change.”
The director Yoo Seon Dong also teased, “Through ‘Unmasked,’ viewers will be captivated by the various faces, expressions, and diverse charms of Jung Sung Il. Global audiences will discover a new side of Jung Sung Il.”
“Unmasked” will premiere on January 15, 2025.
