Koo Ja Sung, Jung Yong Ju, And Lee So Yi Are Lee Se Young And Na In Woo’s Childhood Besties In “Motel California”
MBC’s upcoming drama “Motel California” has introduced the quirky besties of Lee Se Young and Na In Woo!
Based on Shim Yoon Seo’s 2019 novel “Home, Bitter Home,” “Motel California” is a romance drama about a woman named Ji Kang Hee (Lee Se Young), who was born and raised in a rural motel called Motel California. After escaping her hometown, she returns home after 12 years and winds up reconnecting with her first love and childhood friend Cheon Yeon Soo (Na In Woo).
The newly released stills reveal Kang Hee and Yeon Soo’s close friends Cha Seung Eon (Koo Ja Sung), Ryu Han Woo (Jung Yong Ju), and Han Ah Reum (Lee So Yi). Cha Seung Eon is a skilled excavator operator who was abandoned at Motel California as a child and raised alongside Kang Hee like siblings by Kang Hee’s father Ji Chun Pil (Choi Min Soo).
Ryu Han Woo is a former stockbroker-turned-livestock farmer who lives at Motel California after being kicked out of his home.
Han Ah Reum is a library assistant aspiring to become a poet, known as the most highly educated individual in Hana Village.
The stills capture Seung Eon, Han Woo, and Ah Reum’s vibrant and dynamic lives in the countryside. Seung Eon impresses with his professional yet carefree demeanor as he expertly operates heavy machinery. Han Woo exudes warmth as he tends to his cattle with fatherly care. Meanwhile, Ah Reum captivates with her dreamy gaze, reflecting her poetic aspirations as she organizes books at the library.
Their squad was originally formed during elementary school, centered around Kang Hee, and consisted of children bonded by unique circumstances. However, Kang Hee’s sudden departure from Hana Village at the age of 20 created a rift between her and the trio. Now, as Kang Hee returns and reconnects with her old friends, viewers are eager to see how the trio impact Kang Hee and Yeon Soo’s journey to rekindle their first love.
The production team commented, “‘Motel California’ will not only depict Kang Hee and Yeon Soo’s romance but also explore the stories of the colorful characters surrounding the charming Motel California and the quaint Hana Village. The unique coming-of-age tale of rural youths, sparkling with vibrancy and dynamism, will be a standout feature of the series. We ask for your anticipation and support.”
“Motel California” is set to premiere on January 10 at 9:50 p.m. KST. Stay tuned!
