Winners Of The 2024 MBC Drama Awards
MBC has celebrated another year of successful dramas!
On January 5, the pre-recording of the 2024 MBC Drama Awards was broadcast, honoring the network’s dramas from the past year. Although the show was originally scheduled to broadcast live on December 30, the ceremony was instead pre-recorded and the broadcast postponed to share in a period of mourning with the nation following the Jeju Air plane tragedy.
This year’s Daesang (Grand Prize) went to Han Suk Kyu for his performance in “Doubt.” In his acceptance speech, Han Suk Kyu shared, “I wanted to take on ‘Doubt’ to convey the importance of family. I recently reflected on how a big theme of my life’s work has been family. I want to express my deep condolences to those who have lost their family. I want to convey my apologies.”
This year’s award winners are as follows:
Daesang (Grand Prize): Han Suk Kyu (“Doubt”)
Drama of the Year: “Chief Inspector 1958”
Top Excellence Award (Miniseries): Yoo Yeon Seok (“When the Phone Rings”), Lee Je Hoon (“Chief Inspector 1958”), Lee Ha Nee (“Knight Flower”)
Top Excellence Award (Short-Form or Daily Drama): Seo Jun Young (“The Brave Yong Su Jeong”), Uhm Hyun Kyung (“The Brave Yong Su Jeong”), Oh Seung Ah (“The Third Marriage”)
Best Actor: Byun Yo Han (“Snow White Must Die – Black Out” ), Kim Nam Joo (“Wonderful World”)
Best Couple: Yoo Yeon Seok and Chae Soo Bin (“When the Phone Rings”)
Best Character: Kwon Hae Hyo (“Bitter Sweet Hell,” “Snow White Must Die – Black Out” ), Jung Sang Hoon (“The Pork Cutlets”)
Lifetime Award: Choi Bool Am
Special Plaque of Appreciation: Kim Soo Mi
