Winners Of 39th Golden Disc Awards Day 1
The 39th Golden Disc Awards kicked off last night!
On January 4, the Golden Disc Awards held the first night of its ceremony at Fukuoka’s PayPay Dome in Japan. Although the awards were originally scheduled to air live, the live broadcasts were cancelled in the wake of the tragic Jeju Air Plane Crash. Day 1 will now air on January 6 at midnight KST, while Day 2 (which will be pre-recorded on January 5) will air on January 7 at 1:20 a.m. KST.
Day 1 of the Golden Disc Awards honored the biggest digital song releases of 2024, while Day 2 will honor achievements in physical album releases.
aespa won this year’s Daesang (Grand Prize) for Digital Song of the Year with their smash hit “Supernova,” marking their first time winning a Daesang at the Golden Disc Awards.
Songs released between early November 2023 and early November 2024 were eligible for this year’s awards.
