Kang Hoon may be leading a new drama by “Dear Hyeri” director!
On January 8, EDaily reported that Kang Hoon will be starring in the lead role in the upcoming drama “Asura Balbalta” (working title).
In response to the report, a representative from Kang Hoon’s agency npio Entertainment stated, “Kang Hoon has received an offer to appear in the new drama ‘Asura Balbalta’ and is currently reviewing it positively.”
“Asura Balbalta” is a youth coming-of-age drama with elements of comedy. It follows the journey of three struggling comedians striving toward their dreams and a woman whose life has fallen apart as they come together to rise above their challenges and rediscover their dreams.
The drama will be directed by Jung Ji Hyun, known for hits like “Mr. Sunshine,” “Search: WWW,” “Twenty-Five Twenty-One,” and “Dear Hyeri.” The script is written by Ahn Ah Reum, the writer behind “Once Again.”
Kang Hoon is in talks to play Kang Tae Goo, a once-promising “super rookie” in the comedy world. As the leader of Team Asura, Kang Tae Goo is brimming with passion for comedy but faces the harsh realities of an unforgiving world.
If confirmed, this would mark Kang Hoon’s second collaboration with director Jung Ji Hyun, following their work on “Dear Hyeri.”
