Netflix’s upcoming drama “The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call” has shared character stills of Ju Ji Hoon, Choo Young Woo, Ha Young, Yoon Kyung Ho, and Jung Jae Kwang!
Based on a popular webtoon, “The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call” is a medical drama that tells the exhilarating story of Baek Kang Hyuk, a genius surgeon who once roamed the battlefield, as he takes on the mission of reviving a defunct and neglected Severe Trauma Care team.
The first set of stills captures Ju Ji Hoon as Baek Kang Hyuk, a genius surgeon with a stubborn personality who is unwilling to compromise. The image of Baek Kang Hyuk riding a motorcycle with a rugged, sun-scorched face hints at his extraordinary resolve to save lives—even in war zones—and raises curiosity about his mysterious past. His unwavering composure and confidence in emergency situations further heighten anticipation for the character of genius doctor Baek Kang Hyuk.
Describing Baek Kang Hyuk, Ju Ji Hoon shared, “He’s a fearless individual who possesses both skill and intellect. Fighting against injustice was immensely satisfying, it felt almost like a superhero story.”
Choo Young Woo portrays Yang Jae Won, a promising fellow in the colorectal surgery department who becomes Baek Kang Hyuk’s first disciple. Yang Jae Won, a promising surgeon on a smooth career path, leaves behind his comfortable life to join the trauma team and grow alongside Baek Kang Hyuk. Choo Young Woo expressed his deep attachment to the character, stating that he felt he grew alongside his character Yang Jae Won during the filming process.
Ha Young plays Cheon Jang Mi, a senior nurse who has been with the Trauma team for five years. She is a dedicated and skilled nurse who supports Baek Kang Hyuk and Yang Jae Won. Ha Young commented, “Jang Mi is a passionate nurse who will stop at nothing to save lives. The director and I worked hard to seamlessly integrate humor into her character.”
Veteran actor Yoon Kyung Ho stars as Han Yoo Rim, the ambitious head of the colorectal surgery department. Han Yoo Rim, an ambitious man aiming to climb the hospital hierarchy, finds his status shaken by the arrival of Baek Kang Hyuk. Frustrated by Baek Kang Hyuk’s unconventional methods and the loss of his star mentee Yang Jae Won, he constantly clashes with Baek Kang Hyuk.
Yoon Kyung Ho teased, “Han Yoo Rim is a character whose pursuit of promotion and success leads to constant clashes with Baek Kang Hyuk. He undergoes significant changes as the story progresses, and I focused on capturing his gradual transformation.”
Jung Jae Kwang plays Park Kyung Won, a mysterious anesthesiologist who supports the trauma team. Recognized by Baek Kang Hyuk as a hidden talent, Park Kyung Won quietly supports the trauma team with his exceptional skills.
Speaking about his role, Jung Jae Kwang said, “Park Kyung Won is principled and precise in his duties. I focused on expressing his emotions and circumstances primarily through his gaze and actions. Following Ju Ji Hoon’s suggestion, I even opted for long hair to visually emphasize the character’s unique personality.”
“The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call” is set to premiere on January 24.
