Watch: Park Hyung Sik, Heo Joon Ho, And More Immerse Into Their Roles At Script Reading For New Drama “Buried Hearts”

SBS’s upcoming drama “Buried Hearts” has shared a sneak peek of its first script reading!

On January 10, the production team of “Buried Hearts” released photos and a behind-the-scenes video from the first script reading.

“Buried Hearts” tells the story of a man who manages to hack a political slush fund account worth 2 trillion won (approximately $1.36 billion) and the man who kills him without knowing he’s been hacked—thus accidentally losing the entire 2 trillion won.

The script reading was attended by director Jin Chang Gyu and writer Lee Myung Hee as well as the cast members including Park Hyung Sik, Heo Joon Ho, Lee Hae Young, Hong Hwa Yeon, Woo Hyun, Kim Jung Nan, Do Ji Won, Kwon Soo Hyun, and more.

Park Hyung Sik stars as Seo Dong Joo, the leader of the Daesan Group chairperson’s Public Affairs team. Known for his meticulous ambition, Dong Joo is a character marked by cold rationality and fierce determination. Park Hyung Sik’s striking transformation, from his demeanor to his gaze, left the staff in awe, marking a bold departure from his previous image as he embraced a darker, more ambitious role.

Heo Joon Ho delivers a powerful performance as Yum Jang Sun, a former National Intelligence Service (NIS) director turned influential law school professor. Yum Jang Sun controls kingmakers from behind and secretly holds the strings to all of society, and he derives pleasure from being able to move people around at his will like puppets.

Lee Hae Young also stood out with his quiet yet powerful charisma as Heo Il Do, the CEO of Daesan Energy. He perfectly captured the character’s unique traits, portraying Heo Il Do as someone who appears emotionless but occasionally reveals surging ambition through impeccable control of pacing and intensity.

Rising star Hong Hwa Yeon impressed as Yeo Eun Nam, showcasing a wide range of emotions and vibrant energy that belied her status as a rookie.

Veteran actors Woo Hyun, Kim Jung Nan, and Do Ji Won anchor the drama with their seasoned performances. Woo Hyun plays Daesan Group chairman Cha Kang Cheon, while Kim Jung Nan takes on the role of his daughter Cha Guk Hee, the CEO of Daesan Chemicals and mother to Yeo Eun Nam. Do Ji Won’s portrayal of Ji Young Soo, a character tied to the Daesan Family due to a hidden secret, further enriches the narrative.

Meanwhile, younger actors like Kwon Soo Hyun, Yoon Sang Hyun, Cha Woo Min, and Gong Jiho bring fresh energy and charm, injecting vitality into the drama.
