4 Times Things Got Complicated In Episodes 7-8 Of 'Who Is She!'

This week, things are starting to get really messy for Oh Doo Ri (Jung Zi So) and Daniel Han (Jung Jinyoung), who are trying to make the best out of their circumstances, although none of them seem to be getting a break from so many struggles any time soon. While at this point we’ve seen little to no romance happening, it isn’t that important right now, since our main leads already have so much going on in their plates. Nonetheless, the plot keeps evolving and thickening, making us stay at the edge of our seats with their story.

Warning: spoilers from episodes 7-8 below!

1. Oh Mal Soon’s sister pretending to be her

In these latest episodes we not only discover the identity of the mysterious woman who resembles Oh Mal Soon (Kim Hae Sook), but we also learn more about her past. She is actually Mal Soon’s sister, who left the country with her mother when she was a child. Though they were on bad terms and didn’t speak for a long time, Oh Kkeut Soon (Kim Hae Sook) is ready to help her older sister while she is pretending to be Oh Doo Ri.

Despite not knowing her sister’s situation entirely, Kkeut Soon tries to support Mal Soon as much as possible. A clear example of that is the way she defends her sister from gossiping neighbors and the fact she teams up with her son-in-law to finally find out what happened to her daughter and why she is so resentful towards her mother now. Mal Soon is definitely a complex woman with a hidden burden, and while her present situation is still the biggest issue, her past will come forward to complicate things even more.

2. Mr. Park fighting to be with Oh Doo Ri/Mal Soon

After a shocking revelation, we learn Park Gab Yong (Jung Bo Suk) is taking the second male lead role to a whole new level. He is a good friend who has stayed with Mal Soon through thick and thin, but as he is determined to conquer her love, he has a whole plan in order to do so. Taking his chance to be young again, he pursues once more his career as a professional fighter, even signing with an agency under the name of Park Jun (Yoo Jung Hoo).

However, despite his great efforts and sacrifices—like leaving his son and home behind—he still has to fight fate. It’s a fate that has put Daniel Han (Jung Jinyoung) between him and Doo Ri. Though everything is fair when it comes to love, it is easy to figure out that Park Jun is not destined to be with Oh Doo Ri. We still have to see what will happen to them in the future. Even if he might not get the happy ending he hopes for, he could still have the chance to revalue his past.

3. Doo Ri slowly getting feelings for Daniel

It is complicated to talk about feelings between Oh Doo Ri and Daniel (Park Jinyoung) since technically she could be his mother’s age, but we know the magic of K-dramas might have something in store for them. So far, she has seen him as nothing more than her boss, the man who is widely pushing her debut as a singer, but she is also starting to see him as a friend. Though nothing big has happened between them, her heart is fluttering for him now.

But Daniel has a past that continues tormenting him, and that could be a big burden for someone who intrinsically doubts men like Oh Doo Ri. Nonetheless, his vulnerable side seems to be winning her sympathy, as she sees how badly his trauma affects him. More importantly, Daniel’s unwavering trust and support seems to be what ultimately will open her heart to him.

4. Oh Doo Ri’s risky situation at UNIS

Right now, Doo Ri’s position as a trainee at UNIS looks more like a see-saw game than a race or competition. In one moment she is making some progress with her fellow team members, preparing to debut as a singer, just to be targeted and kicked out of the company a few days later. And the most worrisome part is that she doesn’t really know how long she has before she goes back to her older self, or if she ever will in any case. That is probably one of the biggest mysteries so far.

She has the perfect setting to achieve her long-lost dreams and get back what was rightfully hers. But just as when she was younger, her enemy isn’t exactly weak, and Kim Ae Sim (Cha Hwa Yun) won’t let her get away that easily. However, Oh Doo Ri isn’t the naive girl she used to be, and more importantly, she has Daniel by her side now. Only time will tell if they’ll succeed in bringing justice this time around for our talented singer.
