BLACKPINK's Jisoo And Park Jung Min's Romance Blossoms At The Workplace In Upcoming Drama “Newtopia”

Coupang Play’s upcoming drama “Newtopia” has released new stills featuring Park Jung Min and BLACKPINK’s Jisoo in a heart-fluttering love story!

“Newtopia” tells the story of Jae Yoon (Park Jung Min), who is serving in the military, and his girlfriend Young Joo (BLACKPINK’s Jisoo), as they race through a zombie-infested Seoul to find each other.

The new stills offer a glimpse into their sweet love story. Jae Yoon, a soldier who can only think of Young Joo even as zombies close in, and Young Joo, a determined girlfriend who runs toward him despite the chaos, are at the heart of the drama. Jae Yoon, once indifferent to Young Joo, the campus beauty who attracts attention wherever she goes, even turned down her offer to join her group project. Although Young Joo tried to keep her distance, fate stepped in when Jae Yoon was hired at the ice cream shop where she worked, and the two gradually began developing feelings for each other.

In the stills that show Young Joo confessing her feelings to Jae Yoon, the excitement and sweet tension before they become a couple are palpable. The images also capture the couple, now in love, playfully sending hearts at each other. Their chemistry brings a real-life campus couple vibe, and even with zombies lurking nearby, their focus on each other completes their love story, building anticipation for the dynamic chemistry they’ll bring to the screen.

At a production press conference on January 7, the actors exchanged compliments, hinting at the strong on-screen chemistry between their characters. Park Jung Min praised Jisoo, saying, “I admired her because she was always smiling on set. Watching her, I learned a lot.” Jisoo, in turn, shared, “There was a phone call scene with Jae Yoon, and even though there wasn’t a scheduled shoot that day, he came to set. I was so surprised, and thanks to him, I was able to fully immerse myself in the scene.”
