Upcoming TVING drama “The Scandal of Chunhwa” has teased the upcoming romance between Go Ara and Jang Ryul!
“The Scandal of Chunhwa” is a historical romance drama that tells the story of Princess Hwa Ri (Go Ara) who, after experiencing the heartbreak of her first love, declares her intention to choose her future husband herself. Her groundbreaking decision throws the royal palace into turmoil and entangles her with two men: Choi Hwan (Jang Ryul), the city’s most notorious playboy, and Jang Won (SF9’s Chani), the city’s most eligible bachelor.
Princess Hwa Ri is raised with the utmost love and care from the king, nurturing her free-spirited and inquisitive nature. These traits carry over into her approach to love and marriage, as she boldly declares her intention to choose her own future husband. Defying the traditional expectations of an arranged marriage, she causes a stir in the royal palace by announcing her intention to date freely before making her final choice, throwing the entire city into turmoil.
A particularly intriguing element is the involvement of Choi Hwan, the city’s wealthiest and most notorious playboy who enters the competition for Princess Hwa Ri’s heart. With his striking looks and irresistible charm, Choi Hwan has already captured the attention of many women in the city, and now the question remains—can he win the princess’s heart?
The newly released stills capture moments of the budding romance between Hwa Ri and Choi Hwan as they read together and sit on a tree stump. As their connection deepens, the growing chemistry between them leaves viewers eagerly anticipating how their relationship will unfold.
Go Ara shared, “When I first met Jang Ryul, he had such an honest and upright image. In reality too, on set, he was always so considerate, which touched me deeply. I think that mutual care and consideration influenced the drama in a positive way and I’m really thankful for the great atmosphere on set.”
Jang Ryul added, “Go Ara has been a famous actress since I was a child, so it was an honor to act alongside her. I tend to be shy and cautious, so I couldn’t approach her easily, but she was bright and kindly approached me first, which brought us closer more quickly. We often discussed how to portray Hwa Ri and Choi Hwan, which helped shape our performance.”
“The Scandal of Chunhwa” will premiere on February 6.
