Rosé's "APT." Rises To No. 1 On Billboard's Digital Song Sales Chart + Becomes 1st K-Pop Song To Top Global Excl. U.S. Chart For 12 Weeks
For the first time since its release, BLACKPINK’s Rosé and Bruno Mars’ “APT.” was the best-selling song of the week in the United States!
On January 21 local time, Billboard announced that “APT.” had risen to a new peak of No. 1 on Billboard’s Digital Song Sales chart—marking its first time topping the chart, which ranks the best-selling songs of each week in the United States alone.
Billboard also revealed that “APT.” was now spending its 12th non-consecutive week at No. 1 on Billboard’s Global Excl. U.S. chart, making it the first K-pop song to top the chart for 12 weeks.
Only three songs have managed to top the chart longer than “APT.”: Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” (which has spent 14 non-consecutive weeks at No. 1), Miley Cyrus’ “Flowers,” and Harry Styles’ “As It Was” (both of which have topped the chart for 13 weeks).
Additionally, “APT.” stayed strong at No. 2 in its 13th week on Billboard’s Global 200, bested only by Bad Bunny’s new hit “DtMF.”
“APT.” also held steady at its peak of No. 5 for a third consecutive week on Billboard’s Hot 100, where it currently holds the record for the highest-ranking song by any female K-pop act in history (even including groups).
Congratulations to Rosé and Bruno Mars!
