Watch: Jung Soo Bin Feels Uneasy About Hyeri's Hidden Motives In New 'Friendly Rivalry' Teaser

Upcoming drama “Friendly Rivalry” has unveiled another teaser ahead of its premiere!

Based on a popular webtoon, “Friendly Rivalry” is a mystery thriller set at Chaehwa Girls’ High School, an elite institution for the top 1 percent in South Korea, where cutthroat academic competition takes place between the students. Jung Soo Bin stars as Woo Seul Gi, a transfer student who becomes entangled in her classmates’ hidden ambitions—and the secret behind the mysterious death of her father, a former college entrance exam question setter.

The new teaser kicks off with Seul Gi’s narration: “Honestly, I can’t trust you yet,” directed at Yoo Jae Yi (Hyeri), Chaehwa’s top-ranked student who seems to be constantly drawn to her. As the scene unfolds, Seul Gi and Jae Yi are shown as the top-ranking students together, but Jae Yi wears an unsettling expression as she gazes at Seul Gi.

Despite Seul Gi’s wariness, Jae Yi maintains a close connection with her, which seems to irk Jae Yi’s inner circle—Joo Ye Ri (Kang Hye Won) and Choi Kyung (Oh Woo Ri). However, Jae Yi keeps accompanying Seul Gi, sparking curiosity about the true intentions behind Jae Yi’s obsession with her new classmate.

The teaser also reveals that Seul Gi is the daughter of Woo Do Hyuk (Lee Won Jae), a former teacher at Chaehwa Girls’ High School and college entrance exam question setter who mysteriously died before Seul Gi joined the school. This revelation further complicates the dynamics among the students, with Choi Kyung ominously remarking, “You wouldn’t have been hanging with Jae Yi if you knew that.”

As the teaser builds to its climax, Seul Gi’s confusion deepens as she is unsure whether to trust Jae Yi’s actions. The tension rises further when Seul Gi is depicted drowning in water. The final line from Jae Yi, “So why did you mess with my things without any consideration?” leaves viewers wondering about the deeper motives driving the increasingly strained relationship between the two characters.
