“Squid Game 3” Announces Premiere Date + Unveils New Poster and Stills
Get ready for another “Squid Game” season!
On January 29, Netflix confirmed the premiere date for the third and final season of its mega-hit survival drama “Squid Game.” The new season will premiere on June 27.
Along with the announcement, Netflix released a new launch poster and several stills, offering a glimpse of what viewers can expect in the highly anticipated next season.
The newly released poster features a pink guard dragging a bloodied contestant toward a coffin wrapped in a pink ribbon—an image that immediately calls back to signature scenes from the show. In the background, a vividly swirling flower-patterned floor, along with the caption, “Prepare for the final game,” ominously foreshadows the cutthroat final to come.
The silhouettes of Young Hee, the motion-detecting doll from the first game “Red Light, Green Light,” and her companion Cheol Su—first teased in the post-credit scene of the previous season—heighten anticipation for the intense challenges that lie ahead.
The accompanying new stills show Seong Gi Hun (Lee Jung Jae) and other participants after their failed uprising efforts. Gi Hun is seen handcuffed, while other characters, including Yong Sik (Yang Dong Geun) and his mother Geum Ja (Kang Ae Shim), gather around the pink-ribboned coffin.
More images feature No Eul (Park Gyu Young), who enters the game as a pink guard in Season 2, and the Front Man (Lee Byung Hun), holding his signature black mask as he gazes intently at it.
“Squid Game” centers on a mysterious survival game where the ultimate prize of 45.6 billion won (approximately $34.5 million) on the line. Following the success of its first season, “Squid Game 2” went on to become Netflix’s third most-watched season, garnering an impressive 68 million views upon its debut—breaking records for the most views in a premiere week—and topping the Top 10 TV Series (Non-English) list across 92 countries.
