Jung Gun Joo Mobilizes Armed Forces In Attempt To Win Kim Ji Eun's Heart On "Check In Hanyang"

Get ready for a dramatic change in Jung Gun Joo’s character on “Check in Hanyang”!

Set in the Joseon era, “Check in Hanyang” is a romance drama about four young people who become “interns” at Yongcheonru, the grandest inn in all of Joseon. Bae In Hyuk stars as Lee Eun Ho, a prince who is secretly hiding his identity, while Kim Ji Eun plays Hong Duk Soo, a woman who disguises herself as a man to join Yongcheonru.

Jung Gun Joo plays the role of Cheon Jun Hwa, the heir to Yongcheonru, and DKZ’s Jaechan plays Ko Soo Ra, an upstanding but ambitious young man who wants to restore his family’s lost honor.

Despite being the son of the evil Cheon Bang Joo (Kim Eui Sung), Cheon Jun Hwa was previously depicted as a kind, innocent soul who was different from his father, and he struck up a true friendship with his roommates during their training. However, at the end of the latest episode of “Check in Hanyang,” Cheon Jun Hwa was shocked to see Hong Duk Soo—who had previously rejected him when he confessed his feelings to her—kissing Lee Eun Ho.

Newly released stills from the drama’s next episode hint at an unexpected side of Cheon Jun Hwa that we haven’t seen before. While standing before his father, Cheon Jun Hwa wears a desperate, determined expression that contrasts starkly with his past demeanor. Meanwhile, Cheon Bang Joo looks immensely pleased by this new side of his formerly pure-hearted son.

In the next stills, Cheon Jun Hwa dons military attire and leads an armed troop of warriors to an unknown destination at night. It appears that Cheon Jun Hwa’s strong desire to win Hong Duk Soo’s heart has awoken something deep within him—something that has driven him to go so far as to mobilized armed forces for the sake of his goal.
