Watch: Hwang Minhyun Shows Dedication While Portraying Intense Action Scenes On Set Of "Study Group"

TVING’s new drama “Study Group” has shared a behind-the-scenes look of the set!

Based on the popular webtoon of the same name, “Study Group” is a high school action-comedy about Youn Ga Min (Hwang Minhyun), a student who dreams of excelling academically but is only gifted in fighting. At a high school notorious for being one of the worst in the world, he forms a study group and dives into the ruthless world of college entrance exams.

In the newly released making-of video, Hwang Minhyun stretches ahead of his action scene. He remarks, “My hamstrings are stiff, so if I don’t stretch, my kicks don’t go up very high. I have to stretch a lot.”

The behind-the-scenes video highlights the intense and diverse action scenes of “Study Group,” with Hwang Minhyun portraying realistic action scenes with great immersion and attention to detail. In one particular scene, Hwang Minhyun receives great praise for flicking his glasses off perfectly in time during a difficult action scene. He also shows a more playful side as he struggles to get his leg up to send a flying kick.

In another scene, Hwang Minhyun jokes about Kim Se Hyun’s (Lee Jong Hyun’s) stiff attitude toward his character Youn Ga Min. Hwang Minhyun remarks, “[Se Hyun] is too sensitive. He hated me too much even though he will eventually like me later.”

Finally, the making-of video for the last action scene shows Hwang Minhyun throwing continuous punches, leaving him completely out of breath after giving it all for the scene.
