Watch: Boy Group Member And Former Survival Show Contestant Covers RIIZE On "The King Of Mask Singer"

On the latest episode of “The King of Mask Singer,” “Lucky Snake” wowed the crowd with his talent!

During the February 2 broadcast of the MBC singing competition, four contestants moved forward in their quest to challenge the reigning champion for the throne.

In the first match-up of Round 2, Lucky Snake performed a rousing cover of RIIZE’s hit song “Boom Boom Bass.”

RIIZE’s Anton’s father Yoon Sang, who is one of the celebrity panelists on the show, enjoyed Lucky Snake’s performance so much that he even filmed it on his phone. Afterwards, Yoon Sang praised the masked singer by noting, “I was so surprised… this song is sung by six members, but he performed it alone with such skill and ease. My ears were blessed. I found myself wishing the song were longer.”

The other panelists also complimented Lucky Snake’s vocals and technique, with EXID’s Solji confidently guessing that he was the main vocalist of an idol group.

Although Lucky Snake stole the audience’s hearts with his singing, he ultimately lost the round by just five votes (with 47 votes to his opponent’s 52). When he took off his mask to reveal his identity, he turned out to be CRAVITY’s Wonjin, who first entered the spotlight as a contestant on Mnet’s 2019 survival show “Produce X 101.”

Wonjin also spoke about how he got his start in the industry as a child actor. When asked if that experience helped him on stage, he replied, “Because I was an actor before [debuting as an idol], I think I’m fairly confident in my expressions and portrayal of emotion.”

As for his goals for the future, Wonjin shared, “Of course it’d be great to be someone who’s good at a lot of things, but I really want to become someone who isn’t bad at anything. That goes for my current activities as an idol, and after working hard [as an idol], I’d like to try acting again in the future if the opportunity arises.”

After the episode aired, Wonjin took to social media to post selfies that he snapped backstage both with and without his mask.
