Get ready for an exciting lineup of Netflix’s new weekly variety programs premiering this month!
On February 3, Netflix announced the launch of five upcoming variety shows, spanning a wide range of genres and themes. Each show is designed to deliver extreme fun in a light and digestible format, with episodes running under 30 minutes. Without a fixed number of episodes, the shows will feature new formats and new guests every week, promising year-round entertainment.
First up is the cooking talk show “Subjective Kitchen” (literal title), which will air every Saturday, premiering on February 22. “Subjective Kitchen” stars chef Choi Kang Rok and actor Moon Sang Hoon, who create one-of-a-kind, personalized dishes without a set menu. Each week, a new guest will appear as a customer, bringing their unique personality and story to the table through a “subjective order form.”
Next up is “Screwdriver: Finding the Missing Screw” (literal title), which will air every Sunday starting February 23. This show reunites PD Park In Seok of “Beat Coin” with the dynamic “fantastic five” cast of Kim Sook, Hong Jin Kyung, Cho Sae Ho, Joo Woo Jae, and 2PM’s Wooyoung, raising anticipation for their chemistry. “Screwdriver: Finding the Missing Screw” is a retro-concept variety show where comedic talents, who are a bit eccentric, come together to explore the joys and sorrows of life.
Starting February 24, “Club Maniac: The Newbie Obsessed with Clubs” (literal title) will be released every Monday. This show is a club exploration project where Defconn meets veteran members of a different club each week. It promises to be an exciting journey, highlighting the diverse hobbies, clubs, and unique charms of people from all walks of life. The production team behind the hit “Single’s Inferno” series—PDs Kim Jae Won and Park Su Ji along with writer Lee Jung Hwa—have reunited to bring this project to life, raising expectations for another engaging show.
Starting February 26, viewers can tune in every Wednesday to “Choo-ry Choo-ry” (literal title), a talk show hosted by MMA fighter Choo Sung Hoon. Known for his candid and unfiltered charm, Choo Sung Hoon delves into exploring his guests in his own unique style. The show promises heartwarming and relatable conversations with a variety of guests, delivering both laughter and moments of connection. Adding to the fun, comedian Lee Chang Ho joins the show to further enhance the entertainment value.
Starting February 27, “Crazy Delicious: A Gourmet Friend’s Go-To Restaurants” (literal title) will air every Thursday. This culinary talk-travel variety show follows food enthusiasts as they explore their favorite dining spots. Representing Korea and Japan, Sung Si Kyung and Matsushige Yutaka, famously known as “Goro-san” from the Japanese hit drama “Solitary Gourmet,” will take viewers on a flavorful journey. From Korea to Japan and even a third country, the show promises delightful and lively food-centered conversations and experiences.
