Taiwanese Actress And Koo Jun Yup's Wife Barbie Hsu Passes Away
Taiwanese actress Barbie Hsu, the wife of singer and DJ Koo Jun Yup, has tragically passed away from the flu while traveling in Japan.
On February 3, Taiwanese media outlets reported the news, citing a statement from Barbie Hsu’s younger sister Dee Hsu. According to the reports, Barbie Hsu passed away during a family trip to Japan over the Lunar New Year holiday, and the cause of death was acute pneumonia.
Later that day, Ilgan Sports quoted Koo Jun Yup, who confirmed the heartbreaking news, saying, “It is not fake news.”
Barbie Hsu is widely known for her role as the female lead in “Meteor Garden,” the 2001 Taiwanese adaptation of “Boys Over Flowers.” After dating and parting ways in the past, Barbie Hsu and Koo Jun Yup reunited 20 years later and tied the knot in 2022. However, their reunion was cut short, as her passing came just three years into their marriage.
We extend our deepest condolences to Barbie Hsu’s family and loved ones. May she rest in peace.
