5 Short And Sweet Feel-Good Korean BLs For An Instant Dose Of Happy

There’s definitely a time and place for BLs filled with juicy drama and complex storylines, but sometimes something short and sweet is just as good.

For an instant pick-me-up in a small package, these short, feel-good BLs from Korea are easy to watch, full of fluff, and super fun. Expect minimal drama and all things that make you feel warm and cozy inside.

Light On Me

“Light On Me” is about a cute but anti-social high school student named Tae Kyung (Lee Sae On) who has had enough of being an outcast. With the simple goal of making friends, he joins the student council, though not without a few side quests first, and plenty of opposition from one member—Shin Woo (Kang You Seok).

In joining the club, Tae Kyung grows especially close to the class president Da On (Choe Chan I), but at the same time, there’s more to his love-hate relationship with Shin Woo. Unintentionally so, Tae Kyung’s quest for friendship becomes a quest for love. Aw!

Why it’s worth the watch:
This one has a killer love triangle but in a good way. If there was ever a perfectly equilateral love triangle, it would be the one in this drama. Picking between the two leads is truly “Twilight”-level difficult, but Tae Kyung figures it out in the end.

Oh! Boarding House

Sul Won (Shin Young Seok) is tasked with managing his mom’s boarding house for men, which includes several eccentric housemates he must look after. When a new housemate named Kim Chun Seo (Im Sung Kyun) arrives, he ends up saving Sul Won during an incident at the house.

To show his appreciation, Sul Won tries to be extra attentive to Chun Seo, but his admiration turns into romantic feelings. At first, Chun Seo is annoyed by Sul Won’s eagerness to get close, but Sul Won starts to melt his heart.

Just as it seems something special could be starting between the two, Sul Won’s longtime friend moves into the house with a secret agenda to win Sul Won’s heart.

Why it’s worth the watch:
The quirky housemates with totally different personalities trying to live in symbiosis doesn’t always work out, and the situations they get into are so unexpected and funny. You’ll never quite know what is going to happen next, but odds are it’ll be silly good fun.

“Blossom Campus”

“Blossom Campus” is a simple story about a sweet love blossoming between two students on campus (get it?). Yoon Chan (Choi Dong Ho) is a bubbly athlete who wants to make friends but has none, while Kim Min Jae (Son Byeong Hoon) is a studious student who actively avoids making friendships.

The two can’t seem to stop running into each other, so they decide to give friendship a shot. But it isn’t long until their feelings develop into something more. And things get awkwardly adorable.

Love Class

As the drama name hints, this story starts with a marriage and family class. For a class assignment, students must be paired into couples. Leading man Cha Ji Wu (Han Hyun Jun) wants to be paired with his crush, Bae Yu Nah (Ryu In A), but he’s reluctantly paired with another guy, Lee Ro Ah (Kim Tae Hwan). Ro Ah is a handsome senior who has just returned from the military.

Though Ji Wu is determined to get close to his crush, he finds himself getting flustered whenever he is around Ro Ah. As they practice doing couple things for class, Ji Wu is surprised to find spending time with Ro Ah isn’t so bad.

Why it’s worth the watch:
The chemistry between Ji Wu and Ro Ah is off the charts. Their connection is so natural; it feels like it’s meant to be. And their height difference? Perfection.
