"Check In Hanyang" Stars Say Goodbye + Thank Viewers Ahead Of Tonight's Finale
The stars of “Check in Hanyang” shared their final thoughts ahead of tonight’s series finale!
Set in the Joseon era, “Check in Hanyang” is a romance drama about four young people who become “interns” at Yongcheonru, the grandest inn in all of Joseon. Bae In Hyuk stars as Lee Eun Ho, a prince who is secretly hiding his identity, while Kim Ji Eun plays Hong Duk Soo, a woman who disguises herself as a man to join Yongcheonru.
Expressing his gratitude to the drama’s viewers and fans of his character in particular, Bae In Hyuk remarked, “Thank you to the viewers who have tuned into and loved ‘Check in Hanyang’ up until now.”
He went on to request, “Just as you have kept an eye on and rooted for Lee Eun Ho, I ask you to also keep an eye on and show lots of love and interest for actor Bae In Hyuk as well.”
Meanwhile, Kim Ji Eun shared, “I’m truly thankful to the viewers who gave their love to ‘Check in Hanyang.’ Just as Hong Duk Soo, who had lived her entire life with only one feeling, had friends who became a source of comfort and gave her a new reason to go on living, I hope that you will remember ‘Check in Hanyang’ as a good friend, however brief.”
She continued, “Also, to the ‘Check in Hanyang’ team who filmed together from the hot summer until the cold winter, you truly worked so hard, and I hope that your lives will be full of only joy. Based on the valuable experience I gained through ‘Check in Hanyang,’ I will continue to work hard to become an actress who can repay [viewers] with good acting.”
Jung Gun Joo spoke nostalgically about his experience filming the drama, remarking, “The past six months I spent filming ‘Check in Hanyang’ flew by before I knew it, and the drama is ending at last. From the start of the drama to its end, I feel grateful for each and every part of the journey. Everyone, from the director and writer to the cast and crew, worked really hard.”
Addressing the show’s viewers, he went on, “Above all else, I’m incredibly thankful to the viewers who loved our drama. Seeing viewers’ reactions to our drama was a precious joy and source of fun in my daily life. Once again, I want to say that I’m truly grateful to the viewers who gave their love to ‘Check in Hanyang.’”
Finally, DKZ’s Jaechan confessed, “Because this was my first leading role and my first historical drama, I was really worried and had a lot of concerns. But thanks to my co-stars and the crew, I had so much fun and got so immersed in filming that I’d forget it was a shoot.”
“Because the character of Ko Soo Ra was similar to me in many ways, I feel very sad [to be saying goodbye],” he continued, “but I’ll become a Park Jaechan who grows even more [as an actor], so please look forward to it.”
The final episode of “Check in Hanyang” will air on February 9 at 9:10 p.m. KST.
