TVING’s original drama “Running Mate” has unveiled new posters and a teaser, signaling the start of an intense and chaotic high school election showdown!

“Running Mate” follows Noh Se Hoon (Yoon Hyun Soo), who becomes the laughingstock of his school after an unfortunate incident. However, his life takes an unexpected turn when he is suddenly nominated as a vice-presidential candidate in the student council election. Thrust into a whirlwind of cutthroat strategies and power plays, he is determined to reclaim his dignity and seize victory.

Set against the backdrop of a fiercely contested student council race, the drama weaves together fiery ambitions, sharp conflicts, unbreakable friendships, and heartwarming growth, making for a thrilling and emotionally charged ride.

Adding to the anticipation, “Running Mate” marks the directorial debut of Han Jin Won, the Oscar-winning co-writer of “Parasite.” The drama also boasts a dynamic lineup of rising stars, including Yoon Hyun Soo, Lee Jung Sic, Choi Woo Sung, Hong Hwa Yeon, Lee Bong Joon, and Kim Ji Woo.

The newly released posters hint at the rollercoaster month ahead for the student candidates, where simply running for office turns their world upside down. The stark contrast between the blue (Candidate No. 1) and red (Candidate No. 2) factions sets the stage for an intense political battle that will shake the entire school.

Among those is Noh Se Hoon, who seeks redemption as the vice-presidential candidate for Candidate No. 1. His running mate is the enigmatic silver-spoon student Kwak Sang Hyun (Lee Jung Sic), who aims for the presidential seat under the same banner. Meanwhile, passionate choir leader Yang Won Dae (Choi Woo Sung) emerges as a formidable contender, leading the rival Candidate No. 2 faction.

The stakes are further raised with a lineup of ambitious vice-presidential hopefuls: the top-ranked academic ace Yoon Jung Hee (Hong Hwa Yeon) of Team Blue, social butterfly Park Ji Hoon (Lee Bong Joon) of Team Red, and the school’s undeniable visual center Ha Yoo Kyung (Kim Ji Woo) of Team Red. As these students engage in a no-holds-barred battle where madness is the only way to win, their explosive rivalries promise a gripping and unpredictable political spectacle.

The trailer adds to the excitement, opening with the intriguing question, “Do you want a chance to change the world?” What follows is a fiery campaign war between the two factions, each desperately vying for the students’ votes. Amidst it all, Kwak Sang Hyun approaches Noh Se Hoon with a cryptic offer: “I see potential in you.”

As Noh Se Hoon officially becomes Kwak Sang Hyun’s running mate, the real battle begins. Tension simmers between Kwak Sang Hyun and his formidable opponent Yang Won Dae.
