Spoilers

On the record-breaking first episode of “The Witch,” viewers were introduced to the character of Park Mi Jeong (played by Roh Jeong Eui) from the perspective of Lee Dong Jin (GOT7’s Jinyoung). Mi Jeong, who was labeled a “witch” by her classmates and plagued by rumors that everyone who falls in love with her dies, had no friends and ate lunch by herself every day. As the smitten Dong Jin watched from afar, Mi Jeong’s life at school became lonelier and lonelier as more people around her suffered mysterious and tragic accidents—some of which were fatal.

Even as all the other students began to believe that being around Mi Jeong or getting involved with her would lead to death or tragedy, Dong Jin was the only one who refused to believe in her “curse.” However, just as he finally made up his mind to approach Mi Jeong and strike up a conversation with her, Mi Jeong suddenly left school and vanished into thin air.

10 years later, Dong Jin unexpectedly ran into Mi Jeong again in Seoul. Just like their high school days, Mi Jeong was once again alone and tormented by the idea that she could hurt those around her. Sure enough, a man who drunkenly confessed his feelings to Mi Jeong on the subway was later reported to have died shortly afterwards—revealing that the strange curse of death that afflicted Mi Jeong in high school was still following her wherever she went.

In its upcoming second episode, “The Witch” will retell the events observed by Dong Jin from Mi Jeong’s point of view. From a much closer distance, the drama will reveal why Mi Jeong wound up being called a “witch,” as well as what she was thinking and feeling when she watched the people around her die or get injured. Finally, the reason why Mi Jeong left school for good that fateful day will also come to light.

To see things from Mi Jeong’s point of view, catch the second episode of “The Witch” on February 16 at 9:10 p.m. KST!
