Lee Sun Bin, Kang Tae Oh, And More Bring Their Quirky Characters To Life In “The Potato Lab” Posters

tvN’s upcoming drama “The Potato Lab” has released character posters featuring its cast!

“The Potato Lab” is a new romantic comedy drama set in a rural potato research institute. The story follows Kim Mi Kyeong (Lee Sun Bin), a researcher whose life revolves entirely around potatoes, and So Baek Ho (Kang Tae Oh), a cold and principled corporate director. When So Baek Ho unexpectedly enters Kim Mi Kyeong’s world, the two find themselves entangled in a whirlwind romance.

The newly released character posters perfectly capture each character’s personality and charm. First up is Kim Mi Kyeong, who lives by the motto “Life is all about charging forward!” A true “potato fanatic” who has devoted her life to research, she suddenly finds her world shaken by So Baek Ho, a corporate strategist from Wonhan Retail, who disrupts her beloved potato lab. The bold caption—“Bring it on! I’ll show you what real hell looks like”—hints at her fiery personality and the unexpected romance that awaits.

On the other hand, So Baek Ho is the complete opposite. His neatly styled hair, perfectly tailored suit, and sharp gaze reflect his belief that “Life is all about principles.” However, his rigid rules are put to the test when he encounters the unpredictable Kim Mi Kyeong at the potato lab, a place where principles don’t seem to apply.

Then there’s Park Ki Se (Lee Hak Joo), the executive director of Wonhan Retail’s strategic planning office. Cunning and filled with an inferiority complex, his past collides with his present when he crosses paths with his ex Kim Mi Kyeong at the potato lab. The cryptic phrase—“I’m not the Park Ki Se you used to know”—suggests he’s back with a hidden agenda, raising curiosity about his next move.

Lee Ong Joo (Kim Ga Eun), on the other hand, is a sweet character who views life through rose-tinted glasses. A true “romance addict” and a best-selling web novel writer, she believes “Life is all about love!” With sparkling eyes, she eagerly observes the budding romance between her best friend Kim Mi Kyeong and So Baek Ho. Equipped with nosiness, imagination, and a tendency to jump the gun, Lee Ong Joo is ready to play cupid in the most entertaining way.

Lastly, Kim Hwan Kyung (Shin Hyun Seung), Mi Kyeong’s younger brother, brings a breath of fresh air with his laid-back and cheerful nature. Unlike his fiery sister, his motto is “All’s well that ends well.” Though his carefree nature sometimes lands him in trouble, his boundless energy and lovable charm promise to add a lighthearted touch to the drama.

“The Potato Lab” is set to premiere on March 1 at 9:20 p.m. KST.
