Lee Yo Won, Chani, And Jung Kyung Ho's Upcoming Sci-Fi Film Announces Premiere Date With Intriguing Poster
The upcoming film “Ghosts” (literal title) has announced its release date!
“Ghosts” explores a world set in the near future where human-like AIs coexist with real humans in South Korea. The film expands on the universe of director Hwang Seung Jae’s award-winning film “The Interviewees,” which won the Grand Prize (Daesang) in the Video Category at the 8th SF Awards in 2021. Through a hyper-realistic depiction of the future, the film also delves into pressing social issues in modern-day Korea.
The star-studded cast includes Lee Yo Won, SF9’s Chani, Jung Kyung Ho, Baek Soo Jang, and Oh Hee Joon.
The newly released poster features a large delivery box placed in front of an old hallway door. Labeled “Customized AI Service,” the box’s massive size hints at a human-shaped AI inside. The tagline, “The ‘You’ you ordered has arrived”, further fuels intrigue, with a clever play on the Korean text where part of “You” is stylized to resemble “AI”—suggesting that what awaits inside is an AI version of oneself. Will it be a wish-granting genie or a Pandora’s box of unforeseen consequences? As these AI deliveries intertwine with the film’s title “Ghosts,” anticipation builds for the chilling mystery to unfold.
“Ghosts” is set to hit theaters across Korea on April 9.
While waiting, watch Jung Kyung Ho in “Men of Plastic” below:
