TWICE's Agency Warns Strong Legal Action Against Stalking

JYP Entertainment has issued a firm legal warning against stalking and privacy violations targeting TWICE members.

On February 26, the agency released the following statement:

Hello, this is JYP Entertainment.

Recently, an individual has been persistently sending letters containing inappropriate content and images fueled by delusions while stating that they’ve been loitering around TWICE members’ workplaces, residential areas, and other personal spaces. These actions have caused severe mental distress and anxiety not only to the affected artist but also to those around them. In response, we have reinforced security measures to ensure the safety of our artists and are closely monitoring the situation.

According to the Act on Punishment of Stalking Crimes, any act of waiting near or observing someone’s daily living spaces, or repeatedly sending letters, drawings, images, or objects via mail or phone against their will, constitutes stalking behavior. Therefore, the repeated sending of distressing letters and loitering around the artist’s personal space despite their objections is a clear case of stalking and is subject to strict legal consequences under this law.

We strongly emphasize once again that these actions are completely against the artist’s wishes.

Should the individual fail to immediately cease such stalking behaviors, JYP Entertainment will take the absolute strongest and all possible legal action without any leniency or settlement.

We sincerely thank all fans who continue to support and cherish TWICE and will continue to do our best to protect our artists.
