Kim Sung Cheol may be teaming up with Park Bo Young in an exciting new drama!

On February 26, KUKINEWS reported that Kim Sung Cheol has been cast in the upcoming drama “Goldland” (literal title).

In response to the report, his agency Story J Company stated, “Kim Sung Cheol has received an offer to star in ‘Goldland’ and is currently reviewing it.”

“Goldland” tells the story set in Goldland, South Korea’s first domestic casino built to revive the economy of a struggling mining town that was affected by the decline of the coal industry.

Park Bo Young is currently in talks to play Kim Hee Joo, a woman burdened by misfortune to the point of being labeled “cursed.” Determined to escape her past, she starts working at Goldland and falls in love with a man she meets there. However, their relationship takes a dangerous turn when they become entangled in a mysterious attempted murder case linked to an untraceable stash of gold bars.

Kim Sung Cheol has reportedly been offered the role of Woo Gi, a gang member and Hee Joo’s middle school classmate. After meeting Hee Joo again in an unexpected place 10 years later, he and Hee Joo become entangled in a web of conflicts surrounding the missing gold.

The drama will be directed by Kim Sung Hoon, known for acclaimed films like “Confidential Assignment” and “Rampant,” as well as the drama “Chief Detective 1958.” The script will be penned by Hwang Jo Yoon, the writer behind “Masquerade,” “Memoir of a Murderer,” and “Rampant.”
