Kang Tae Oh And Lee Sun Bin Show Off Adorable Real-Life Chemistry Behind The Scenes Of 'The Potato Lab'

JTBC’s upcoming drama “The Potato Lab” has shared a cute glimpse of its cast behind the scenes of filming!

“The Potato Lab” is a new romantic comedy set in a rural potato research institute. Lee Sun Bin stars as Kim Mi Gyeong, a researcher whose life revolves entirely around potatoes, while Kang Tae Oh will play So Baek Ho, a cold and principled corporate type who joins the institute as its new director.

On February 28, “The Potato Lab” released behind-the-scenes photos that offer a glimpse of the warm camaraderie on set. In contrast to their characters in the drama, who can’t stop bickering and clashing at every turn, Lee Sun Bin and Kang Tae Oh show off their playful real-life chemistry as they pose for the camera together between takes.

Meanwhile, a fun group photo taken by the actors playing the institute’s researchers hints at the cast’s top-notch teamwork.

Lee Sun Bin enthused, “Our chemistry was so flawless that it couldn’t possibly have been any better. The atmosphere on set was so great, and our teamwork was the absolute best. We gave each other strength, and the energy on set never dropped.”

Kang Tae Oh revealed, “We got along so well that we even went to the amusement park together on a day off. On the day of our final shoot Nam Hyun Woo showed us a compilation video he edited using the photos and videos we’d taken during the months we spent filming,  and I teared up.”

As for what viewers can look forward to in the drama, Lee Sun Bin chose “the chemistry between the various characters” and “Kim Mi Gyeong and So Baek Ho’s first meeting.” She continued, “Everyone who worked on ‘The Potato Lab’ sincerely poured their hearts into the drama so that it could make viewers laugh comfortably and become a source of healing for them. Please give it lots of love and interest.”

Meanwhile, Kang Tae Oh shared, “Just as potatoes are used in many banchan (Korean side dishes), I hope that you’ll keep an eye on how the colorful stories of these distinctive and unique characters blend together in ‘The Potato Lab.’ Also, please look forward to what sorts of changes will be caused by Mi Gyeong and Baek Ho’s first meeting.”

He went on, “I hope this drama will warm viewers’ hearts and bring them joy. I hope you can relieve all of your stress by watching ‘The Potato Lab.’”

“The Potato Lab” will premiere on March 1 at 9:20 p.m. KST.
