Kang Tae Oh And Lee Sun Bin Share An Unforgettable First Meeting In "The Potato Lab"
JTBC’s upcoming drama “The Potato Lab” has unveiled a new glimpse of its premiere!
“The Potato Lab” is a romantic comedy that centers on a rural potato research institute. Lee Sun Bin stars as Kim Mi Gyeong, a researcher whose life revolves entirely around potatoes, while Kang Tae Oh will play So Baek Ho, a cold and principled corporate type who joins the institute as its new director.
In newly released stills from the upcoming drama, the potato research institute’s employees enjoy a festive team dinner to welcome their newest addition: Kwon Hee Dong (Nam Hyeon Woo), the youngest member of their team. With the party in full swing, Go Jeong Hae (Kwak Ja Hyung) and Lee Choong Hyun (Yoon Jung Seop) are seen having a blast at karaoke together with Kwon Hee Dong.
However, the mood suddenly turns somber when Boo Jae Joong (Yoo Seung Mok) gets an unexpected phone call. Kim Mi Gyeong, who was in the middle of opening a beer bottle, freezes in place as she tries to listen in on the unfolding conversation. The shocked expressions on both of their faces hints at the major crisis that has struck the potato research institute.
Meanwhile, So Baek Ho exudes an intimidating aura as he stands in front of a company organization chart with a sharp gaze. So Baek Ho—whose top priority is efficiency above all else—is the executive in charge of overhauling and reorganizing Wonhan Retail, which is set to merge with Seonnyeo Foods.
As So Baek Ho prepares to shake up the entire company, the potato research institute’s team gets ready for a very special outing. In contrast to their usual workwear, the team members don flashy suits and outfits as they saunter through a parking lot together in style.
The drama’s production team teased, “In Episode 1, which airs today, the potato research institute will face a crisis caused by So Baek Ho. Please look forward to the fiery first meeting between So Baek Ho and Kim Mi Gyeong, who has devoted her entire life to potatoes.”
Referring to a popular Korean street food, they continued, “Just like tornado potatoes, there will be a whirlwind of laughs from the drama’s first episode.”
