Hyeri Struggles To Navigate Conflicts With Kim Tae Hoon, Chung Su Bin, And Oh Woo Ri In “Friendly Rivalry”

Hyeri may be on the brink of her biggest crisis in “Friendly Rivalry”!

Based on a popular webtoon, “Friendly Rivalry” is a mystery thriller set at Chaehwa Girls’ High School, an elite institution for the top 1 percent in South Korea, where cutthroat academic competition takes place between the students. Chung Su Bin stars as Woo Seul Gi, a transfer student who becomes entangled in her classmates’ hidden ambitions—and the secret behind the mysterious death of her father, a former college entrance exam question setter.

Newly released stills capture the reactions of Jae Yi (Hyeri), Seul Gi, and Choi Kyung (Oh Woo Ri) as they check their final exam rankings. Jae Yi looks frustrated, Seul Gi appears exhausted, and Choi Kyung seems unexpectedly pleased. Their contrasting facial expressions hint at a surprising shift in rankings—Jae Yi and Seul Gi, who shared the top spot in the midterms, may have been overtaken by Choi Kyung, the longtime runner-up.

More stills show Jae Yi in a tense moment with her father Yoo Tae Jun (Kim Tae Hoon). She once promised him, “I will gladly be the daughter you can be proud of.” But for Tae Jun, losing her position as the top student is unacceptable. As Jae Yi makes a secret proposal to her father, viewers are curious to find out what kind of deal she will offer and whether Tae Jun will accept it.

Meanwhile, Joo Ye Ri (Kang Hye Won) appears to be working more closely with Nam Byung Jin (GOT7’s Youngjae). Both prioritize money above all else and have previously carried out tasks for Tae Jun. Now, the question remains—have they fully joined forces, and if so, what are they planning?

Meanwhile, Seul Gi takes the first step in seeking out Jae Yi, who has been keeping her distance. In the past, Jae Yi was always the one to reach out, but now their roles have reversed. The two meet at a swimming pool, leaving viewers curious about their conversation—and how it could affect their relationship moving forward.

“Friendly Rivalry” releases new episodes every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 12 a.m. KST.
