Park Hyung Sik Remains Unshaken As Kwon Soo Hyun Confronts Him In “Buried Hearts”

“Buried Hearts” has teased an upcoming tense confrontation between Park Hyung Sik and Kwon Soo Hyun!

SBS’s “Buried Hearts” tells the story of a man who manages to hack a political slush fund account worth 2 trillion won (approximately $1.4 billion) and the man who kills him without knowing he’s been hacked—thus accidentally losing the entire 2 trillion won. Park Hyung Sik stars as Seo Dong Joo, the leader of the Daesan Group chairman’s Public Affairs team.

The previous episode ended with Seo Dong Joo surviving a near-death experience orchestrated by Yum Jang Sun (Heo Joon Ho)—but losing his memory in the process. He then unexpectedly crossed paths with Yeo Eun Nam (Hong Hwa Yeon), his former lover who left him for a strategic marriage.

Calling out his name with a trembling voice, Eun Nam was met with an unrecognizing gaze from Dong Joo, leaving viewers questioning whether he truly lost his memory.

The newly released stills capture the tense atmosphere immediately following their encounter. While Dong Joo tries to keep his emotions in check, he appears unsettled by the unexpected situation. Yeo Eun Nam also looks shaken by his indifferent reaction. Meanwhile, her husband Yum Hee Chul (Kwon Soo Hyun), who shares a bitter past with Dong Joo, is visibly seething with rage at the mere sight of him.

In one particularly gripping shot, Hee Chul grabs Dong Joo by the collar, while Dong Joo remains calm, seemingly trying to defuse the situation. Given their history of intense clashes, their confrontation brims with palpable tension. How will this fateful confrontation alter the power dynamics at play?

The production team teased, “In Episode 5, Dong Joo, despite his memory loss, will fully reenter the game. Whether intentional or not, he will stir up major waves among those surrounding Daesan Group. Alongside Park Hyung Sik, Heo Joon Ho, and Lee Hae Young, Hong Hwa Yeon and Kwon Soo Hyun will also deliver intricate and powerful performances. Please look forward to it.”
