Watch: Kim Dong Jun’s Star Power Turn The Base Upside Down In “New Recruit 3” Teaser

“New Recruit” Season 3 has officially confirmed its premiere date!

On March 10, “New Recruit 3” announced its premiere date for April 7 and shared its first teaser and poster.

Based on the hit YouTube animation of the same name by Studio JBBJ, “New Recruit” is a black comedy drama that delves into the lives of young adults in their 20s, exploring the culture, secrets, and absurdities of South Korea’s military.

Returning for its highly anticipated third season, the lineup includes the original “New Recruit” crew—Kim Min Ho, Nam Tae Woo, Lee Sang Jin, Jo Jin Se, Lee Chung Goo, Kim Hyun Kyu, Lee Jung Hyun, Jeon Seung Hoon, and Lee Soo Ji. Joining them are the much-anticipated new faces, Kim Dong Jun, Oh Dae Hwan, and Kim Yo Han, who are set to bring fresh energy to the series.

The newly released poster captures the essence of “New Recruit 3,” with the Shinwha Unit members standing firm with their signature intensity. Park Min Seok, who is on the verge of being promoted to Corporal, and Choi Il Gu (Nam Tae Woo) lead the pack, while the presence of returning members Kang Chan Seok (Lee Jung Hyun), Im Da Hye (Jeon Seung Hoon), and Park Min Joo (Lee Soo Ji) hints at an upgraded dynamic for the upcoming season.

Meanwhile, the stark contrast between rookie recruit Jeon Se Gye (Kim Dong Jun), who boasts an extraordinary presence, and nervous newcomer Moon Bit Na Ri (Kim Yo Han) adds to the intrigue. The charismatic new company commander Jo Baek Ho (Oh Dae Hwan) further builds anticipation for the impact of these new faces.

However, the real scene-stealer is Seong Yoon Mo (Kim Hyun Kyu), who stares directly at the camera. Once the most notorious “attention-seeker” of Season 1, his unexpected return raises questions about what role he will play this time around.

The accompanying teaser video amplifies the excitement with glimpses of the new recruits shaking things up in Shinwha Unit. The arrival of the love-proclaiming new company commander Jo Baek Ho and the perpetually clumsy Moon Bit Na Ri, who brings to mind Park Min Seok’s own disastrous early days, sets the stage for yet another chaotic yet hilarious season.

Kim Dong Jun plays Jeon Se Gye, a former child actor-turned-global star who is not only handsome but also exceptionally well-mannered and socially adept. With his charm, he quickly captivates his military seniors, putting Park Min Seok’s position in jeopardy.

Kim Min Ho once again takes on the role of the “military silver spoon” Park Min Seok, who finds his status challenged by the superstar Jeon Se Gye. Nam Tae Woo reprises his role as the troublemaking senior soldier Choi Il Gu, while Lee Sang Jin returns as the clumsy but warm-hearted platoon leader Oh Seok Jin. Jo Jin Se brings back his signature comedic timing as administrative soldier No Hee Jung, and Lee Chung Goo continues as the tsundere housekeeper of Squad 1 Kim Sang Hoon.

A key highlight of the season will be the return of Kim Hyun Kyu as Seong Yoon Mo, the former villain of Season 1, who is set to stir up fresh drama. Meanwhile, Lee Jung Hyun transforms into a reformed soldier Kang Chan Seok, and Jeon Seung Hoon returns as Park Min Seok’s senior, the stone-faced soldier Im Da Hye. Lee Soo Ji once again delivers an impressive performance as Park Min Seok’s strong-willed sister and special instructor Park Min Joo.

“New Recruit 3” premieres on April 7 at 10 p.m. KST on ENA.
