INFINITE's Sungjong Wins Lawsuit Against Former Agency For Unpaid Earnings

INFINITE’s Sungjong has won his lawsuit against his former agency.

Recently, Sungjong filed and won a civil lawsuit against his former agency SPK Entertainment regarding the payment of unpaid settlement money.

After signing an exclusive contract with SPK Entertainment in August 2022, Sungjong did not receive the promised contract payment nor the support necessary for broadcast appearances, fan meetings, and album releases.

SPK Entertainment did not address the certification of contents and rectification requests for contract violations, so due to the continued lack of response, Sungjong notified the agency of the termination of his exclusive contract last year. A forced arbitration was established in the injunction for the suspension of the contract’s effect, freeing him from the contract.

At that time, Sungjong also filed the lawsuit for unpaid settlement money related to his activities with INFINITE, YouTube appearance fees, and Japanese fan meetings, covering about two years of his activities. He won the relevant case on February 28, a year after filing the lawsuit.

The court ruled, “The defendant (SPK Entertainment) must pay the plaintiff (Lee Sungjong) the settlement money calculated with an annual interest rate of 6 percent from April 21, 2023 to February 28, 2025 and with an annual interest rate of 12 percent from the following day until full repayment.”

Recently, INFINITE released their eight mini album “LIKE INFINITE” on March 6, and they are gearing up for the encore concerts of their 15th anniversary tour “LIMITED EDITION” on April 12 and 13 at INSPIRE Arena.
