Gong Myung Brings Unexpected Warmth As A Grim Reaper In New Fantasy Romance Drama “Way Back Love”
TVING’s upcoming original series “Way Back Love” has unveiled the first glimpse of Gong Myung’s character!
Based on a novel, “Way Back Love” is a fantasy romance drama starring Kim Min Ha as Hee Wan, a 24-year-old woman who has isolated herself from society after losing the will to live. A week before her death, her childhood friend and first love Ram Woo (Gong Myung) appears before her as a grim reaper.
The newly released stills showcase Ram Woo’s bright charm, immediately drawing attention. His warm, gentle gaze as he looks into the distance creates a sense of comfort. Adding to the intrigue, he wears a name tag that reads “Hee Wan” on his chest.
In another shot, Ram Woo sheds his school uniform and returns as a grim reaper, exuding a completely different aura. His once-calm demeanor is now accompanied by a noticeably brighter smile, deepening curiosity about his story.
A quiet and introverted model student, Ram Woo finds excitement only in playing board games with Hong Seok (Jung Gun Joo). But after crossing paths with the ever-busy Hee Wan, he is pulled from the shadows into the whirlwind of high school life.
Gong Myung shared his love for the project, saying, “As soon as I read the script, it warmed my heart, and I found Ram Woo and Hee Wan absolutely lovable.” He described the drama as “a story that has it all—cuteness, charm, and deep emotion.”
Praising his co-star Kim Min Ha, he highlighted her versatility. “She’s an incredibly dynamic actress, effortlessly shifting from charming to intense. On set, simply looking into Min Ha’s eyes makes every scene feel real—it’s an incredible experience,” he said, building anticipation for their on-screen chemistry.
Episodes 1 and 2 of “Way Back Love” will premiere on April 3.
