BTS's Jimin's "Who" Overtakes PSY's "Gangnam Style" To Become Longest-Charting K-Pop Solo Song On Billboard Hot 100
BTS’s Jimin has set a new Billboard Hot 100 record!
On March 11 local time, Billboard revealed that Jimin’s solo song “Who” had successfully remained on the Hot 100 (Billboard’s weekly ranking of the most popular songs in the United States) for a 32nd consecutive week. For the week ending on March 15, the song came in at No. 41.
“Who” has now broken the record for the longest-charting song by a K-pop soloist on the Hot 100, breaking the record of 31 weeks set by PSY’s iconic 2012 hit “Gangnam Style” over a decade ago.
Additionally, “Who” is now tied with BTS’s “Dynamite” for the longest-charting song by a K-pop artist in Hot 100 history.
Meanwhile, Jimin’s solo album “MUSE” extended its own record as the longest-charting K-pop solo album to date on the Billboard 200, where it ranked No. 154 in its 33rd consecutive week on the chart.
“MUSE” also spent its seventh non-consecutive week at No. 1 on Billboard’s World Albums chart, while “Who” stayed strong at No. 23 on the Global Excl. U.S. chart, No. 24 on the Global 200, and No. 26 on the Streaming Songs chart in its 33rd week.
Congratulations to Jimin on making Billboard history!
