3 Intriguing Relationships To Keep An Eye On In "Hyper Knife"
Disney+’s “Hyper Knife” has highlighted three key relationships between the drama’s characters that viewers should pay close attention to!
“Hyper Knife” is a medical crime thriller that depicts the fierce rivalry and growth of two crazy geniuses who reunite: Doctor Jeong Se Ok (Park Eun Bin), who once had a promising past, and her former mentor Choi Deok Hee (Sul Kyung Gu), who caused her to hit rock bottom.
Ahead of the drama’s premiere, here are three of Jeong Se Ok’s relationships to look forward to in “Hyper Knife”:
Jeong Se Ok and Choi Deok Hee
Jeong Se Ok was once a brilliant neurosurgeon, but she lost everything in an instant and now lives as a shadow doctor. The person responsible for revoking her medical license is none other than the mentor she once respected the most—Choi Deok Hee. The drama explores how their relationship, once built on admiration and affection, transforms into one filled with hatred and intense conflict.
Sul Kyung Gu emphasized the unique appeal of the drama, saying, “It’s a completely different kind of medical drama, depicting an unusual dynamic between mentor and protégé.”
Park Eun Bin added, “It’s fascinating to think about how these two, who have lived such lonely lives, end up grabbing each other by the throat.” As the former mentor and mentee reunite after six years, how their relationship unfolds will be a key focal point of the drama.
Jeong Se Ok and Seo Young Joo
While Jeong Se Ok and Choi Deok Hee have a love-hate relationship, Se Ok and Seo Young Joo (Yoon Chan Young) share an unshakable bond built on trust and loyalty. This stems from the fact that Se Ok once saved Young Joo’s life.
Regarding their special connection, Park Eun Bin explained, “Seo Young Joo seems to have been chosen by Se Ok. From the moment she met him, she took a liking to him. She sees him as ‘hers’ and has a natural possessiveness over him.”
Yoon Chan Young also commented, “Young Joo does everything he can to help Se Ok, by any means necessary. His determination to protect her stands out.”
Jeong Se Ok and Han Hyun Ho
Han Hyun Ho (Park Byung Eun) is an anesthesiologist and Se Ok’s partner in illegal surgeries. However, he is not just a mere accomplice—he deeply acknowledges her medical prowess while also feeling conflicted about the dangerous path she has chosen.
Park Eun Bin explained, “Hyun Ho is, in a way, a truly good doctor. His nature is the complete opposite of Se Ok’s, which is why she respects him on a personal level.”
Meanwhile, Park Byung Eun remarked, “Seeing Se Ok perform illegal surgeries every night to save lives made me think, ‘She is truly greater than I am.’ My respect for her transcends admiration.”
He also shared his approach to his character by stating, “While playing Han Hyun Ho, I focused solely on what he would think and how he would act in each moment.”
“Hyper Knife” is set to premiere on March 19.
