Roh Jeong Eui, Lee Chae Min, And Jo Joon Young Break Down Their Characters’ Relationships In New Drama “Crushology 101”
MBC’s upcoming drama “Crushology 101” has teased the dynamics of Roh Jeong Eui’s relationships with Lee Chae Min and Jo Joon Young!
Based on a webtoon, “Crushology 101” is set in a university and follows the growth story of Ban Hee Jin (Roh Jeong Eui). After experiencing heartbreak from her disastrous first love, she finds herself entangled with handsome men.
Ban Hee Jin is a top student with a great personality but is completely clueless when it comes to romance. She finds herself drawn to Hwang Jae Yeol (Lee Chae Min), a talented visual design student, and Cha Ji Won (Jo Joon Young), who ranks in the top 0.1 percent of the dating scene.
Set on a cherry blossom-filled campus, the series promises a fresh romance filled with sweet moments and unexpected twists. The cast has also teased key dynamics, adding to the anticipation.
Roh Jeong Eui described Ban Hee Jin and Hwang Jae Yeol’s relationship as an “intersection,” explaining that while they frequently cross paths, they just as easily miss each other.
Lee Chae Min added, “Ban Hee Jin and Hwang Jae Yeol don’t get along at first, but they keep running into each other, and over time, their relationship grows. If I had to sum it up in one phrase, I’d call it a ‘love-hate relationship.’”
Meanwhile, Roh Jeong Eui and Jo Joon Young used “cloud” and “pine tree” to describe Ban Hee Jin and Cha Ji Won’s senior-junior relationship. Roh Jeong Eui explained, “They support each other a lot, but like a cloud in the sky, their relationship feels close yet just out of reach.”
Jo Joon Young described his character as a steady presence in Ban Hee Jin’s life. “As her senior in the same department, he stays by her side like a sturdy pine tree she can lean on,” he said.
The newly released stills capture the excitement of young love. Against a backdrop of cherry blossoms, Ban Hee Jin, Hwang Jae Yeol, and Cha Ji Won showcase captivating on-screen chemistry.
Their relationships evolve in many ways—sometimes clashing like an “intersection” and navigating a “love-hate relationship” before becoming sources of support. Like a “cloud” offering comfort and a “pine tree” providing stability, they grow closer over time.
“Crushology 101” is set to premiere on April 4 at 9:50 p.m. KST.
