Red Velvet’s Seulgi Talks About Her Latest Solo Album, Bond With Her Members, And More
Red Velvet’s Seulgi recently participated in a photo shoot for the fashion magazine Elle!
In an interview that followed the photo shoot, Seulgi was asked about the process of preparing for her second solo album “Accidentally On Purpose.” She shared, “I focused on communication. It was really fun to see different, interesting ideas come together into one. Through that process, I was also able to express my opinions in various ways. I may not have been the captain, but I think I played the role of the first mate.”
Regarding her first impression of the title track “Baby, Not Baby,” she shared, “I thought there would be a lot I could do with this song. I wanted to showcase a side of Seulgi that hadn’t been seen before.” She went on to express her affection for the track. Seulgi also emphasized her strong bond with her group, saying, “No matter what I do, my members always support me. While preparing for the album, they each checked in on me one by one to see how things were going. As the second-oldest member of the team, I also want to continue being a source of strength for them.”
Last year marked the 10th anniversary of Red Velvet’s debut. Alongside that milestone, Seulgi launched her personal YouTube channel and held her first photo exhibition, actively expanding her career. Reflecting on her journey, she described herself as a calm and composed person.
“There are moments when I feel nervous, especially right before going on stage, but I always try to believe that everything will work out. I make an effort not to let anxiety take over,” she explained. “Of course, expressing emotions is important, but in the end, I believe I understand myself better than anyone else. That’s why I try to control my emotions rather than letting them overwhelm me. I think that’s what makes me a composed person.”
