Lee Sung Min, Jin Ki Joo, And P.O Confirmed To Star In Kim Moo Yeol's New Webtoon-Based Drama

Netflix’s upcoming drama “True Lesson” (working title) has unveiled more of its cast!

On March 20, Netflix confirmed that Lee Sung Min, Jin Ki Joo, and P.O will be joining Kim Moo Yeol in the drama’s cast lineup. Kim Moo Yeol was previously announced as the lead.

Based on the webtoon of the same name, “True Lesson” is centered around the fictional Teacher’s Rights Protection Agency, a government body created to restore teacher authority.

The series will be directed by Hong Jong Chan, known for Netflix’s “Mr. Plankton” and “Juvenile Justice,” while the script is penned by Lee Nam Kyu of Netflix’s “Daily Dose of Sunshine” and JTBC’s “The Light in Your Eyes.”

Kim Moo Yeol stars as Na Hwa Jin, an inspector at the Teachers’ Rights Protection Agency. Using his own methods, he takes on various school-related issues, bringing a sharp sense of justice and satisfaction to viewers.

Praising the team’s dedication, Kim Moo Yeol shared, “Everyone’s enthusiasm was incredible. Before diving into the challenging topic of education, we read the script together, and it reminded me once again that I’m working with colleagues I can trust and rely on. It was an inspiring start that made me even more excited for the story we’ll create together.”

Lee Sung Min takes on the role of Choi Kang Seok, the minister of education who founded the Teachers’ Rights Protection Agency.

Expressing his excitement, Lee Sung Min said, “I was deeply impressed by writer Lee Nam Kyu’s previous works, so I have high expectations for this one as well. This is my second time working with director Hong Jong Chan after ‘Juvenile Justice,’ and I have great trust in him. Most of all, I’m thrilled to collaborate with such talented actors. I’ll do my best to deliver a great production to the audience.”

Jin Ki Joo stars as Im Han Lim, a former Special Forces soldier who becomes an inspector at the Teachers’ Rights Protection Agency, showcasing a new side of her acting.

“I was drawn to the script because it’s deeply rooted in today’s reality,” said Jin Ki Joo. “Adding the Teachers’ Rights Protection Agency as a fantasy element makes you think about the issues we need to tackle together. The script reading felt incredibly alive, filling me with excitement and anticipation for my journey as Im Han Lim.”

P.O plays Bong Geun Dae, a brilliant officer at the Teachers’ Rights Protection Agency, bringing fresh intrigue to the character.

Sharing his enthusiasm, P.O said, “Watching ‘Juvenile Justice,’ I was amazed by how powerfully a drama can deliver a social message. I’m thrilled to work with director Hong Jong Chan on ‘True Lesson’ and to collaborate with Lee Sung Min, a senior I’ve admired, as well as Kim Moo Yeol and Jin Ki Joo—actors I’ve long wanted to work with.”

He added, “I do feel pressure and nerves as this is a highly anticipated project with a profound message and an exceptional production team. However, I will do my best to learn as much as possible on set and contribute to creating a great drama.”

“True Lesson” is scheduled to begin filming in the first half of 2025, with its broadcasting schedule currently under discussion.
