Kim Ji Hun Fights For His People As A King In Upcoming Drama “The Haunted Palace”

SBS’s upcoming drama “The Haunted Palace” has unveiled a sneak peek of Kim Ji Hun’s character!

“The Haunted Palace” is a fantasy historical romantic comedy that delves into the tale of the Eight Feet Tall spirit that bears a grudge against the king, a female shaman who opposes it, and an Imugi. In Korean folklore, an Imugi is an imaginary creature that spends a millennium in water and is able to transform into a dragon upon acquiring Yeouiju (magical jewel).

Kim Ji Hun stars as King Yi Jeong, a wise and just ruler who prioritizes his country and people above all else. He strictly upholds the law, refusing to allow shamans into the palace. However, when a series of mysterious events disrupt the royal court, he joins forces with his trusted vassal Yoon Gap (BTOB’s Yook Sungjae) and Yeo Ri (WJSN’s Kim Ji Yeon), whom Yoon Gap brings to the palace. Together, they engage in a life-or-death battle against the eight-foot demon, with the fate of the kingdom at stake.

Newly released stills capture Kim Ji Hun commanding attention with his intense gaze. Clad in a red royal robe, he fully embodies a king who stands firm amid palace intrigue, further raising anticipation for his portrayal of leadership and determination.

As strange events shake the palace, Yi Jeong is forced into an unlikely alliance with Imugi (also played by Yook Sungjae) and Yeo Ri, a shaman. The mystery surrounding the eight-foot demon deepens as even the strong-willed king begins to feel its looming threat. Curiosity grows over how this unprecedented trio—a king burdened with the fate of a nation, an Imugi beyond the human realm, and a shaman chosen by Imugi—will face the looming danger.
