Lee Jae Wook In Talks For First-Ever Doctor Role In New Drama
Lee Jae Wook may take on his first doctor role since his debut!
On March 21, OSEN reported that Lee Jae Wook will be starring in the upcoming drama “HODL Doctor” (literal title).
Regarding the report, a representative from Lee Jae Wook’s agency shared, “It is one of the projects he has been offered.”
Based on the webtoon of the same name, “HODL Doctor” follows Do Ji Eui, a plastic surgeon who is assigned to work as a public health doctor on the remote island of Pyeongdongdo—an isolated place everyone dreads. Over the course of one year, he struggles to endure his time there while treating a wide range of patients and encountering the island’s eccentric residents. The webtoon was first serialized in February 2022 and is still ongoing.
The drama will be directed by Lee Myung Woo, who helmed “The Fiery Priest” and “Boyhood.”
If Lee Jae Wook accepts the role, he will play Do Ji Eui, a plastic surgeon and the drama’s protagonist, marking his first time portraying a doctor since his debut in 2018.
Meanwhile, Lee Jae Wook is gearing up for the release of his upcoming Netflix historical romance drama “Hong Rang” (also known as “Tangeum”) and will also appear on the variety show “Fresh off the Sea 2.”
