Yook Sungjae And Bona Captivate With Their Presence In Upcoming Drama “The Haunted Palace” Poster
SBS’s upcoming drama “The Haunted Palace” has unveiled its main poster featuring BTOB’s Yook Sungjae and WJSN’s Bona!
“The Haunted Palace” is a fantasy historical romantic comedy that delves into the tale of the Eight Feet Tall spirit that bears a grudge against the king, a female shaman who opposes it, and an Imugi. In Korean folklore, an Imugi is an imaginary creature that spends a millennium in water and is able to transform into a dragon upon acquiring a yeouiju (magical jewel).
Yook Sungjae stars as Yoon Gap, a royal archivist possessed by the evil spirit Imugi, Gang Cheol Yi—who also happens to be Yeo Ri’s first love. Bona plays Yeo Ri, the only granddaughter of a renowned shaman. Despite her extraordinary spiritual abilities, she rejects her destined path and instead pursues life as a skilled eyeglass artisan.
The newly released poster, designed in a traditional Korean folk painting style, perfectly captures the folktale-like essence of the drama. At its center, Yeo Ri sits dressed in pure white as a shaman, exuding a mystical aura and unwavering charisma.
Behind her, the evil spirit Imugi exudes an intense presence. Clinging closely to Yeo Ri’s back, he appears both as a formidable deity possessing the shaman and a watchful protector, adding an intriguing layer to their connection.
Meanwhile, their contrasting expressions add a playful twist to their love-hate dynamic. Yeo Ri, radiating icy indifference, refuses to acknowledge her sworn enemy, who has taken over the body of her first love. In contrast, Imugi locks eyes with her with a cocky yet mischievous gaze, his sinister aura starkly contrasting his otherwise innocent nobleman-like appearance.
As curiosity grows over their entangled fate, excitement for the drama continues to build. Viewers eagerly anticipate Yook Sungjae and Bona’s unique romance, blending mystery, thrills, and playful rivalry in a captivating folktale-inspired story.
“The Haunted Palace” is scheduled to premiere on April 18 at 9:50 p.m. KST.
