"Hospital Playlist" Spin-Off "Resident Playbook" Introduces Its Stressed-Out Squad Of Residents
tvN’s upcoming drama “Resident Playbook” has unveiled a new set of posters!
A spin-off of the hit series “Hospital Playlist,” “Resident Playbook” will depict the realistic and relatable hospital lives, growth, and heartwarming friendships of OBGYN residents at the Jongro branch of Yulje Medical Center.
The newly released posters introduce viewers to the drama’s main characters: a stressed-out squad of residents with messy hair and hollow eyes that hint at how tiring their day has been.
As exhausted first-year residents Oh Yi Young (Go Youn Jung), Pyo Nam Kyung (Shin Si Ah), Um Jae Il (Kang You Seok), and Kim Sa Bi (Han Ye Ji) enjoy a brief moment of rest amidst their hectic day, they are paid a visit by fourth-year resident Gu Do Won (Jung Joon Won), who thoughtfully arrives with four cups of coffee.
In her character poster, Oh Yi Young is seen gathering her things as she eagerly prepares to leave work as soon as humanly possible. As a newcomer struggling with every aspect of hospital life, Oh Yi Young worries, “Will I really… be able to become wise?”
Pyo Nam Kyung, a fashionista who’d rather give up sleep than makeup, uses her precious free time to fix her hair and touch up her lipstick. Hinting at love in her future, she complains in her poster’s caption, “Ugh… but I’m not a fan of workplace romance.”
Um Jae Il, the first former idol to become a resident at Yulje Medical Center, is just as passionate in the hospital as he once was on stage. Speaking to a professor on the phone, he exclaims, “Professor! I’m sorry for calling you for the 15th time already!”
Kim Sa Bi, an academically gifted resident who is famous for being a bookworm, pores over textbooks even in her free time. However, there are things that can’t be taught in books, and Kim Sa Bi struggles with charming her superiors at the hospital—a problem hinted at in her caption, which boldly asks, “But Professor… in terms of medical facts, nothing I said was wrong?”
Finally, Goo Do Won—the kind fourth-year resident bringing the newbies coffee—wears a warm smile as he surprises them during their time off. Although his relaxed expression hints at his years of experience, he is still nervous about the unpredictable first-years. On the inside, he secretly hopes, “Please tell me nothing happened today.”
“Resident Playbook” will premiere on April 12 at 9:10 p.m. KST.
