4 K-Dramas To Watch If You're Missing "Undercover High School"
“Undercover High School” was a wholesome entertainer. Seo Kang Jun notched the popularity charts as the super cool NIS agent Jeong Hae Seong, who disguises himself as a high school student for a tricky mission. He displayed his range as an actor, from acing the action sequences, showcasing his knack for comedy, as well as articulating the emotions of his character with ease. Complementing him was Jin Ki Joo as the feisty homeroom teacher, Oh Soo Ah. Though it would have been nice to see more of the romance between the two, these actors kept us entertained throughout the course of the show.
Here are four K-dramas which showcase the versatility of Seo Kang Jun as well as Jin Ki Joo if you’re still missing the show.
“I’ll Go to You When the Weather Is Nice”
Seo Kang Jun’s Jeong Hae Seong may have been a daredevil NIS agent, but the actor also has a sensitive and compassionate side to his range. In “I’ll Go to You When the Weather Is Nice,” the actor plays an optimistic bookstore owner named Eun Seob. As an introvert, Eun Seob has embraced the small town life and is content with everything. Thoughtful and compassionate, he is always ready to lend a helpful hand to those around him. He is the one who helps Park Min Young‘s character Mok Hae Won mend her broken self-esteem after she moves back to town. Hae Won, a cellist, is burnt out and emotionally spent. She leans on Eun Seob, her former classmate, and together they embark on a journey of healing and love.
Eun Seob is a green flag personality. He is a man who owns his vulnerability, is reliable, and loves unconditionally. Seo Kang Jun is bound to charm you with his romantic side. Hopefully we’ll get to see him in some more romantic dramas in the future.

“Watcher”
Playing a brooding officer comes easy to Seo Kang Jun. In “Undercover High School,” Jeong Hae Seong is skilled when it come to outsmarting his adversaries. In the investigative thriller “Watcher,” Seo Kang Jun’s Kim Young Goon is an aloof police officer, traumatized by an incident of the past. He joins a team led by Do Chi Kwang (Han Suk Kyu), and along with Han Tae Joo (Kim Hyun Joo) they set out to investigate and reveal the corruption rampant in the police force. There are repercussions on the way, but Young Goon is determined to expose the truth whatever it takes.
Seo Kang Jun’s Young Goon is a complex young man with several shades of grey. He is rough at the edges and not one to conform to rules since he plays by his own. The actor showcases his range as an actor and will leave you impressed.

“Are You Human, Too?”
After seeing “Undercover High School,” it’s clear Seo Kang Jun has a funny and romantic side to him, but we get to watch the same side in “Are You Human, Too?” where he plays Nam Shin. Nam Shin is the son of an elite family who falls into a coma after an accident. His mother creates a robot who looks just like him. The robot learns the human mannerisms of Nam Shin and takes his place in the real world. As robot Nam Shin III adapts to the humans and their world, his journey comes with several misadventures and a love angle one hadn’t anticipated.
If there is a robot who would win the looks contest, it has to be the one portrayed by Seo Kang Jun. The show is hilarious as well as emotional, and there are some cute moments between him and Gong Seung Yeon‘s Kang So Bong.

“Come and Hug Me”
Jin Ki Joo played the sprightly Korean history teacher Oh Soo Ah, who missed her childhood crush in “Undercover High School.” But in “Come and Hug Me” she plays Jae Yi, an actress who is unable to forget a tragedy from her past. Jae Yi and her childhood sweetheart, Chae Do Jin (Jang Ki Yong), are tied by the chains of their traumatic past. Do Jin, now a detective, is also trying to atone for the sins of his father. Can he and Jae Yi get closure from their dark past and seek a happy future together?
“Come and Hug Me” may sound like a lighthearted title, but the show packs a punch with its emotional narrative, which weaves in a crime angle as well. Jin Ki Joo and Jang Ki Yong will tug at your heart in their portrayal of the star-crossed lovers.
