Kwanghee, Shin Hyun Ji, Bae In Hyuk, And Jeon Somi Promote Korean Cuisine On Food Bikes In New Variety Show 'Street Food Bikers'

JTBC’s upcoming program “Street Food Bikers” has unveiled new stills and interviews with the cast ahead of its premiere!

“Street Food Bikers” follows passionate food lovers as they travel around Spain on food bikes, showcasing Korean cuisine to locals and tourists. The cast includes Ryu Soo Young, Italian chef Fabrizio Ferrari (Fabri), Kwanghee, Shin Hyun Ji, Bae In Hyuk, and Jeon Somi.

Kwanghee, who has honed his cooking skills through various cooking shows over the years, shared, “Many things about the show were different from the cooking shows I’ve done before. There was no fixed location to cook, and the weather conditions weren’t always ideal for making the same dishes. As it was my first time running a business, I faced many difficulties, and I was able to experience and realize how much effort and care those who run food businesses put into preparing their meals.”

When asked about the most rewarding moment, he recalled, “It was on the final day, when I was touched by a customer who said, ‘Thank you for making it possible for me to enjoy such delicious food in Cádiz.’” Kwanghee then expressed his admiration for Ryu Soo Young and Fabri, saying, “They are truly incredible and amazing chefs. Even in such a challenging environment, their affection for customers and dedication to serving delicious Korean food was truly admirable.”

Shin Hyun Ji, who interacts with customers in four different languages, explained, “Since I approached the show as if I were actually running a business, I even forgot that I was wearing a microphone. Now that I think about it, I’m worried about how much screen time I had.” She further added that through her experience abroad, she was well aware that communication can happen through intuition, body language, and energy, so she didn’t feel that much fear about the language barrier.

Bae In Hyuk, who proved himself to be a hard-working team member, also shared his own most rewarding moment from filming. He said, “It was when the customers ate the food I made and I heard their positive feedback in real time.” He also commented, “To me, everyone on the ‘Street Food Bikers’ team was a variety show mentor. Since I didn’t have much experience in variety shows, I relied on each one of them a lot and received a lot of help.”

Jeon Somi, who experienced her first part-time job on the show, remarked, “The biggest challenge was definitely the language barrier. Even though I studied Spanish beforehand, communication was difficult at times, and there were frustrating moments. However, after a few days, I got better at reading the situation and was able to understand customers without them having to say anything. I felt proud of myself for improving.”

On her chemistry with the team, she shared that Shin Hyun Ji was a big help with Spanish, while Bae In Hyuk, with his extensive part-time experience, provided valuable support. “Every time I wanted to send an S.O.S signal, they were already there beside me, ready to help,” she recalled.

“Street Food Bikers” is set to premiere on April 8 at 10:40 p.m. KST.
