“YADANG: The Snitch” Stunt Coordinator Previews Thrilling Action Sequences With Kang Ha Neul, Yoo Hae Jin, And Park Hae Joon
The stunt coordinator of the upcoming film “YADANG: The Snitch” has shared insights into the movie’s action sequences!
“YADANG: The Snitch” will tell the story of an informant who supplies inside information on South Korea’s drug trade, a prosecutor eager to rise through the ranks, and a detective willing to risk everything to bring down drug-related crime. As their goals collide, a high-stakes showdown unfolds.
The film features action sequences coordinated by Heo Myung Haeng, known for his work on the “The Outlaws” series. He recently revealed behind-the-scenes details about the film’s thrilling and dynamic action scenes.
Stunt coordinator Heo Myung Haeng said, “I focused on combining impactful compositions to balance realism and technique.” He explained that the action was designed to feel authentic, avoiding exaggerated movements to match the film’s tone and style.
Throughout the process, Heo Myung Haeng worked closely with director Hwang Byung Guk to bring a sense of realism to the action, constantly discussing and researching to develop a unique action style. They used real-life references, such as narcotics investigation unit detectives arresting or subduing drug criminals, to ensure the action scenes felt as realistic as possible on camera.
He also infused the characters’ personalities into the action scenes, emphasizing their individuality. For example, in one sequence, Lee Kang Soo (Kang Ha Neul) drives his military-grade Hummer into a group of detectives trying to arrest drug dealers, clearing the scene in one move. By highlighting the Hummer’s unique design and Lee Kang Soo’s bold, straightforward character, the scene delivers an intense and thrilling impact.
The film also features several scenes showcasing Heo Myung Haeng’s signature dynamic action. One standout moment sees a drug smuggler fleeing through a narrow platform crowded with passengers, while Lee Kang Soo, Gu Kwan Hee (Yoo Hae Jin), and Oh Sang Jae (Park Hae Joon) pursue him. The chase through a busy train station is more than just a pursuit—the unpredictable twists and high-stakes tension keep viewers on the edge of their seats.
“YADANG: The Snitch” is set to hit theaters on April 16.
