Son Suk Ku Transforms Into A Researcher Who May Have Unleashed The Love “Virus” In New Film
Upcoming film “Virus” (literal title) has unveiled a sneak peek of Son Suk Ku’s character!
“Virus” tells the story of Taek Seon (Bae Doona), who is infected with a deadly virus that makes people fall in love for no reason. She embarks on an unexpected journey with three men: researcher Soo Pil (Son Suk Ku), former classmate Yeon Woo (Jang Ki Ha), and Lee Kyun (Kim Yun Seok), the only expert capable of developing a cure.
In the film, Son Suk Ku plays a key figure who spreads the Toxo Virus. His character Soo Pil is a lifelong bachelor with a Ph.D., a respectable job, and a polished appearance—but no experience when it comes to love.
More comfortable with lab rats than people, Soo Pil is caught off guard when he feels an intense attraction to Taek Seon after a blind date. Overwhelmed by his emotions, he soon shows up at her home with a bouquet in hand and makes a bold, straightforward marriage proposal.
Son Suk Ku’s grounded performance—highlighted by awkward confessions and impulsive behavior—adds a quirky charm to the film.
Director Kang Yi Kwan praised Son Suk Ku, who delivers a brief but impactful performance, saying, “He’s an intelligent, curious and driven actor. You’ll be able to see a new side of Son Suk Ku,” further heightening anticipation for his role.
“Virus” is set to hit theaters on May 7.
