Chun Ho Jin And Ryu Deok Hwan Oversee Heavenly Affairs With A Watchful Eye On Kim Hye Ja In “Heavenly Ever After”
JTBC’s upcoming drama “Heavenly Ever After” has unveiled a sneak peek at Chun Ho Jin and Ryu Deok Hwan in their delightfully eccentric roles!
“Heavenly Ever After” is a transcendent romance starring Kim Hye Ja as Lee Hae Sook, a woman who reunites with her husband in heaven after death. Unlike the other residents of heaven—including her husband Go Nak Joon (Son Suk Ku), who has chosen to return to the 30-something version of himself—Lee Hae Sook makes the unusual choice to keep her 80-year-old appearance.
The newly released stills introduce Chun Ho Jin as the director of the Heaven Support Center and Ryu Deok Hwan as the pastor of Heaven’s Church. Both characters are poised to play key roles in guiding Lee Hae Sook through her vibrant new chapter in the afterlife.
In the stills, Chun Ho Jin’s character is seen leading an orientation for new residents in heaven. With a calm smile, he welcomes newcomers and walks them through the rules and guidelines of their new life. However, behind his warm demeanor lies a figure of authority, as he monitors Heaven’s residents via CCTV and quickly flags Lee Hae Sook as someone to keep an eye on.
Meanwhile, Ryu Deok Hwan’s character, the pastor, is spotted casually lounging against a pulpit. In heaven where repentance isn’t needed, he finds himself with little to do and spends his days idly in an empty church. However, his monotonous routine is shaken up when he meets Lee Hae Sook—and gets a real taste of what “heaven” can be.
Director Kim Seok Yoon shared, “Chun Ho Jin plays the head of the Heaven Support Center and will show a refreshing new side of himself—blending gentle charisma with playful comedic timing.”
On casting Ryu Deok Hwan, the director revealed, “It was a challenging role to cast, but we learned Ryu Deok Hwan was searching for his next project and reached out immediately. He’s an incredibly skilled actor, and he also shares a meaningful connection with Kim Hye Ja from their previous work on ‘Country Diaries,’ which made him a perfect fit.”
“Heavenly Ever After” will premiere on April 19 at 10:40 p.m. KST.
