Kim Sung Ryung Is A Mother Who Bans Drinking In Her Family In New Drama 'Second Shot At Love'

tvN’s upcoming drama “Second Shot at Love” has shared a sneak peek of Kim Sung Ryung’s character!

“Second Shot at Love” is a rom-com that tells the story of Han Geum Ju (Girls’ Generation’s Sooyoung), a self-proclaimed “reasonable drinker” who unexpectedly reunites with her first love Seo Ui Jun (Gong Myoung)—a man who despises alcohol—and decides to take on the challenge of quitting drinking.

Kim Sung Ryung plays Kim Kwang Ok, a mother who declares a strict alcohol ban in her home, shouting, “No more alcohol in this house!” As the only one in her family who stands against drinking while her husband and two daughters are passionate about alcohol, Kim Kwang Ok keeps the household in check with a single firm glance. Her stern exterior hides a deep affection for her family.

Newly released stills from the upcoming drama capture Kim Kwang Ok’s commanding presence. The fierce look in her eyes as she glares at someone with tightly pressed lips and a steady gaze seems to suggest that for her family members, “Abstaining from alcohol isn’t a choice, but rather a matter of survival.” Even without saying a word, her energy takes control of the atmosphere.

Kim Kwang Ok is also seen at a local shop, casually chatting with neighbors. Seated at the center of the group with a yogurt bottle and notepad in front of her, Kim Kwang Ok naturally lives up to her nickname “Big Sister of Bocheon Village.” Even without dramatic gestures, her calm yet confident presence hints at her natural leadership style.

“Second Shot at Love” will premiere on May 12 at 8:50 p.m. KST.
