Kwak Sun Young, Shin Hyun Been, Jung Moon Sung, and Bae Hyeon Seong may be joining the growing list of special cameos in “Resident Playbook”!

According to reports on April 18, Kwak Sun Young, Shin Hyun Been, Jung Moon Sung, and Bae Hyeon Seong—beloved for their roles in “Hospital Playlist”— are set to make special appearances in the spin-off series “Resident Playbook.”

In response to the reports, the production team offered a brief statement, saying, “Please tune in to the broadcast to find out.”

“Resident Playbook” depicts the realistic and relatable hospital lives and heartwarming friendships of obstetrics and gynecology residents at the Jongro branch of Yulje Medical Center. The series stars Go Youn Jung, Kang You Seok, Shin Si Ah, Han Ye Ji, and Jung Joon Won.

In the original “Hospital Playlist” series, Kwak Sun Young played Lee Ik Sun, the younger sister of Lee Ik Jun (Jo Jung Suk) and a commissioned officer in the South Korean Army. She also captivated viewers through her love story with Kim Jun Wan (Jung Kyung Ho). Shin Hyun Been played general surgery fellow Jang Gyeo Ul, whose romance with Ahn Jeong Won (Yoo Yeon Seok) earned the couple the affectionate nickname “Winter Garden.” Jung Moon Sung brought warmth and wit as thoracic surgery fellow Do Jae Hak, while Bae Hyeon Seong charmed viewers as the lovable intern Jang Hong Do.

Director Shin Won Ho had previously hinted at more “Hospital Playlist” cameos during the “Resident Playbook” Director’s Talk event on April 15, confirming that the five beloved leads—Jo Jung Suk, Jeon Mi Do, Jung Kyung Ho, Yoo Yeon Seok, and Kim Dae Myeung—would all make appearances.

Following Ahn Eun Jin‘s surprise cameo in Episode 2, he shared, “Characters from ‘Hospital Playlist’ will appear as cameos in nearly every episode. Some will be lighthearted moments, while others will serve as meaningful links to the story. The writer included major ‘Hospital Playlist’ characters where they felt necessary. This week, the stern and intimidating Kim Jun Wan (Jung Kyung Ho) will appear. If you’ve missed him, please stay tuned. I hope viewers will watch with warm hearts.”

The next episode of “Resident Playbook” will air on April 19 at 9:20 p.m. KST!
