"The Match" Becomes 2nd Korean Film Of 2025 To Surpass 2 Million Moviegoers
“The Match” has reached an impressive new milestone at the Korean box office!
On April 21, the Korean Film Council announced that as of that morning, “The Match” had officially surpassed 2 million moviegoers. The film was originally released on March 26, meaning that it took less than 27 days to hit the 2 million mark.
“The Match” is only the second Korean film released in 2025 to reach the milestone, following “Hitman 2.” Even including foreign films, it is only the third film to surpass 2 million moviegoers at the Korean box office (following “Hitman 2” and “Mickey 17”).
In order to commemorate the film’s latest achievement, stars Lee Byung Hun, Go Chang Suk, Hyun Bong Sik, and Moon Jung Hee gathered for a celebratory photo with director Kim Hyung Joo.
Congratulations to the film’s cast and crew!
